2. Your Right to Cancel (UK & EU Consumers)

For most physical products bought online you have a legal right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

  • You may cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason.
  • You then have another 14 days to return the goods from the date you notify us of cancellation.

To cancel, email us at info@salbooks.uk with:

  • Your name
  • Order number
  • Details of the items you wish to cancel/return

3. Conditions for Returns (Physical Books)

To be eligible for a return (change‑of‑mind or cancellation):

  • Items must be unused, in resaleable condition, and preferably in their original packaging.
  • Please take reasonable care of the items while they are in your possession.
  • We may make a deduction from your refund if the value of the goods has been reduced due to handling beyond what is necessary to check them.

Items generally not returnable unless faulty or damaged:

  • Books with obvious signs of use, stains, or damage caused after delivery
  • Items returned after the applicable return period

4. Return Process

  1. Contact us at info@salbooks.uk to request a return, providing your order number and reason.
  2. We will confirm the return address and any reference you should include.
  3. Package the books securely to avoid damage in transit.
  4. Use a trackable postal or courier service and keep proof of postage.

Unless the item is faulty, damaged, or sent in error, you are responsible for the cost of returning the item to us.


5. Refunds (Physical Books)

Once we receive and inspect your return:

  • We will process your refund within 14 days.
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
  • We will refund:
    • The price you paid for the item(s), and
    • The standard outbound delivery cost (where the entire order is returned),
    • But we will not refund any additional costs for premium/express delivery options.

If the returned items show signs of use or damage beyond what is necessary to check them, we may reduce the refund accordingly.


6. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives faulty, damaged, or you receive the wrong item:

  • Contact us within 30 days of delivery (or as soon as reasonably possible) with:
    • Your order number
    • Description of the issue
    • Clear photos of the damage/defect and packaging (if applicable)

Depending on the issue, we may offer:

  • replacement,
  • repair (where relevant), or
  • refund of the item and any applicable delivery costs.

We may provide a pre‑paid returns label or reimburse reasonable return postage where the item is confirmed as faulty, damaged, or sent in error.

Your statutory rights are not affected.


7. eBooks – Digital Content

Because eBooks are digital content:

  • Once an eBook has been delivered, accessed, or streamed, your right to cancel may be lost if you agreed to immediate supply of the digital content.
  • We generally cannot offer refunds for eBooks after delivered or access, unless:
    • You are unable to access it due to a technical issue on our side that we cannot reasonably resolve.

If you experience problems with an eBook:

  • Contact us at info@salbooks.uk with your order number and a description or screenshots of the issue.
  • We will try to resolve the problem or, if necessary, offer a replacement file or refund.

8. Non‑Delivery & Lost Parcels

If your physical order does not arrive:

  • See our Delivery Policy for investigations and timeframes.
  • If an item is confirmed lost by the carrier, we will usually offer a replacement or refund.
